Taking off from our summer base at Knik River Lodge near Palmer, Alaska is the most economical way to get to glacier country. The lodge is only six miles from the face of the Knik glacier, so when you take off in the helicopter the glacier pops into view right away. Within minutes you soar over huge crevasses and glacial lakes filled with icebergs. This is our main summer base and all our summer dogsled tours depart here, as well as the heli hiking, iceberg and glacier landing tours.
We have three daily shuttles to take you here from Anchorage in case you do not have a rental car, or if you prefer to have us do the driving.
The lodge features comfortable cabins with private bathrooms and a restaurant in the beautiful main lodge. Spend the night before or after your trip, or join them for lunch or dinner after your helicopter tour!
