Winter Helicopter & Dogsled Tour

Our signature winter sightseeing and dogsled tour! Enjoy a scenic helicopter ride of approximately 25 minutes as we take you over the mountains to Willow. We land right next to the dog kennel where our musher / guide will be waiting to welcome you to the dogsled capital of Alaska. The Willow area has an extensive trail system, offering scenic evergreen forests with views of the Alaska Range and Denali, the highest mountain on the continent. After a short introduction at the campfire you’ll be outfitted with cold weather gear while the dogs are being harnessed. Lots of excitement as they all want to be picked to run, but once you depart silence returns as you glide through the winter wonderland.

During the approximately 1.5 hour tour you’ll have the option to ‘mush’ your own dog team by standing on the runners. If you prefer to sit back, relax and just enjoy the scenery that is of course fine too: the musher will be in control of the team at all times. There are lots of opportunities to stop for pictures, snacking the dogs or trade places if you choose to.

After returning to the kennel there is some more time to visit with your dog team and take pictures with them before heading back to the big city by helicopter. If you only have one day in Alaska it’s hard to imagine a better adventure!
